Elemental Awareness - Mapping Self Through Dance & Words

Sunday, November 7th 9:30-11:00am EST / 8:00-9:30pm IST

Join dancer-choreographer-facilitator, Diya Naidu, as we explore movement as a medium to open and enter embodied spaces with awareness-based connection to the elements.

"Art can be a deeply mystical somatic place where we go to seek, to hunt and by this I do not exclude the mundane or the ordinary. These realms are not separate as the body will tell us, if we listen." - Diya Naidu

Get Out of Your Own Way

Sunday, October 3rd 9:30-11:00am EST / 8:00-9:30pm IST

Join international actor, director, and teaching artist, V. Bala, as he guides us on a communal journey of harnessing our intuitive impulses to create imaginative poetry and embodied narratives, exploring how performance can be a tool for liberation.

"‘Civilization’ has occurred at the expense of us having lost or being forced to abjure our primordial relationship with our abilities to be intuitive, imaginative, impulsive and instinctive. The hunter was vanquished by the farmer, and with it was vanquished our ability to be liberated. Without the enhancement of our basic cognizance, we cannot evolve." - V. Balakrishnan

Release Your Silence

Saturday, July 10th 9:30-11:00am EDT / 7:00-9:30pm IST

Join writer, performer and entrepreneur, Dipti Mehta, as she explores how we can utilize movement to release the accumulated stresses life brings and embody our inner tranquility, so that we may experience true freedom of expression.

"We live in a world where stress is rampant and trauma is inevitable. Our reality is changing day to day and there is a need to express our inner world to release trauma and stress. We try to do this by venting out, by going to therapy, by talking to our loved ones, in short by constantly using words.

Words are everywhere, all through the day we encounter them even our thoughts are shaped by words and yet words form only 7% of communication. What if words are not enough? What if words are not necessary? What if we can release our inner pain or express our joy without words? Words can still accompany the dance of expression but what if they are just an accessory. Come explore expression with movement" - Dipti

The Edge of Emptiness: Our Earth(ed) Bodies

Saturday, July 10th 9:30-11:00am EDT / 7:00-9:30pm IST

Join dancer, choreographer, curator, arts educator and entrepreneur, Vikram Iyengar, as he leads us in an experiential movement based flow, using the body in space as a vehicle for meditation.

“How can you entirely feel safe, when your family and friends are still back home? How can you mitigate helplessness when the scale of disruption is vast? How can you contribute from so far away?” Vikram Iyengar rose to the “provocation”-how might you stay with and in your body when around you the center does not hold.
