Your support matters - So Thank you!

Where does your money go?

  1. Artists: Our salons provide an intentional platform for independent artists and creative facilitators to showcase their work by teaching communities on healing and resilience building. We believe artists and creative facilitators, with a subject matter expertise aligned with the building of a more conscious and equitable world, act as critical culture carriers, healers and community connectors. We commit to paying our facilitators/teachers a fair-trade honorarium per salon.

  2. Work of the World: Part of our proceeds from ticketing every year supports a nominated beneficiary– a grassroots organization that is doing critical work in areas including, sustaining and amplifying dignity of life and livelihood (includes human trafficking), food security, education and environmental justice. We typically pick organizations that do not benefit from extensive fundraising capacity, have strong governance, and mirror our values of empowering individuals to contribute to inclusive and compassionate change.

Donations to the SFL Operating Fund support operating costs associated with running Salons for Life, such as event and invitee management tools like Zoom, our content management platforms and the talent that drives this content marketing strategy. Largely, most of our creative back-end services are taken care of by two full-time working artists, who render their services to the salons part-time, one of whom is a co-founder. Two of the co-founders do not take a living wage, which helps us keep our operations cost low and lean.

WE ARE STILL FINALIZING OUR GIVING PLEDGE FOR 2024! FOR MORE ON THIS, STAY TUNED.

Your donation is tax-deductible through our partnership with Save the Child. Your donation qualifies for tax-exemption to the extent permissible by standard rules and regulations of the IRS.

What people are saying about us

“We explored identity and belonging through performance, interactive exercises and conversation. Listening allowed me a glimpse into what it means to be an outsider...Of being a community that is not accepted in the dominant sphere, whether that be the holocaust or slavery and its continued aftermath.”

Laura. Actor & Producer, Reiki Healer

“Bringing people and especially women together to explore themselves through the arts is a powerful journey to healing.”

Ritu. Mindfulness Coach

“felt a connection with the facilitator, organizers, and attendees of the salon. There was a palpable commitment to learning, listening, and openness. I could feel my body relax and my mind slow down. I am easily distracted but in this space, I could absorb and take in meaning from the words and experiences shared by Thomas and others in the salon.”
